NEW YORK (echoes) - McDonald is pursued by a group of consumers and nutrition advocates who want to force fast food chain to stop using the toys encourage children to buy meals, they say are unhealthy.

The Center for science in the public interest, which filed the combination of the class action Court California Wednesday, claims that McDonalds violates state consumer protection laws to toy market Happy meal for young children.

The combination was brought to Monet Parham, mother of two in Sacramento and other applicants, said the CSPI. "I am opposed to the fact that McDonald is getting into my children without my permission heads, and actually change what my children want to eat", Parham said in a release.

CSPI threatened to sue McDonald in June, but the company refused to consider ways to avoid a suit of law, said group.

McDonald (MCD, Fortune 500) is committed to the fight against the combination in a statement.

"We are proud of our happy meals and intend to defend vigorously our brand, our reputation and our food," says Bridget Coffing company spokesperson. "We believe that parents understand and appreciate that Happy meals are a fun process, quality and food right size choices for their children that can fit into a balanced diet."

The fresh trial only using toys market Happy meal for young children is illegal because it "is fundamentally deceptive and unfair. Advertising McDonalds is also unfair competitors who choose not to attract very young children with the allure of a toy, according to the complaint.

"When McDonald's sells a Happy meal directly to a young child, he exploits the vulnerability of child development and violating consumer protection laws several States, including the Act of unfair competition from California," Steve Gardner, Director of litigation CSPI, said in a statement.

CSPI and other critics argue that McDonalds promotes unhealthy eating patterns in children deliberately targeting the part of a strategy aimed at maximizing profits.

The Group also blown touting publicly McDonalds more options in good health, such as skim milk, and Apple dippers while regularly putting chips in the majority of the Happy meal.

"Congratulated McDonalds meals that are theoretically possible, even though she knows very well that it is mainly selling hamburgers or the chicken nuggets, French fries and sodas for very young children", said Executive Director Michael Jacobson CSPI.

"In other words, McDonald offers consist mainly of fat meat, fatty, fried cheese, white flour and sugar – a close combination of foods that promotes weight gain, obesity, diabetes and heart disease - and can lead to a lifetime of poor diets," he said.To top of page
