NEW YORK (Reuters) - Apple Inc a finance boss of the Blackstone Group Laurence Tosi at him for the post of head of financial services to the author of the iPhone, a source familiar with the situation, said Thursday.
Tosi, which occupies a higher position at one of the largest of the world and most influential buyout firms decided to go to Apple, said the source.
This is the first indication that Apple may be seeking to replace its CFO, Peter Oppenheimer, who began the giant tech in 1996, according to the site.
However, Apple has denied that it seeks a new CFO.
"Peter pas leave Apple," said spokesman Steve Dowling Apple. "We do not conduct CFO research." It likes company and is extremely happy in her role.
When asked specifically if an approach made Tosi, repeated Dowling that Apple "not lead a CFO research."
News of the approach were reported by Bloomberg.
Blackstone has declined comment.
